Headwaters Park & Boat Landing - At the Headwaters
of the Red River of the North in Breckenridge, on Minnesota Avenue West at Interstate Bridge. At this spot the Red River of the North begins it's Northward flow 549 miles to Lake Winnipeg, Canada, and from there continues onto Hudson Bay, making it the longest North flowing river in the United States. The Red River of the North is formed by the joining of the Bois De Sioux and Otter Tail Rivers at this spot. Boat landing, dock, parking and picnic shelter facilities are available. There is also a 'Friendship Sculpture' denoting the
Headwaters.

Welles Memorial Park - The park entrance is at 2nd
Street North and Nebraska Avenue for vehicles and from Minnesota
Avenue West via the walk bridge. Facilities include: handicapped
accessible playground equipment, picnic shelters, horse shoe
pits, tennis courts, river bank fishing, 5 primitive campsites, restrooms, open grassy areas. This is the site of the Wilkin County Fair and Breckenridge Headwaters Day and other activities, Historic schoolhouse, tours are available upon request. Three Rivers Performing Stage featuring periodic historical pageants.
Railroad Park - Located on Minnesota Avenue across
from Cinema 6 theatre. Railroad Park boasts of a renovated Great
Northern Caboose, various railroad monuments, and original
platform bricks from the depot grounds along with a beautiful
flower garden. Tours are available upon request.
Commemorative Flower Garden & Gazebo - Located on
Minnesota Avenue between 4th and 5th Streets North. The gazebo
was dedicated in September of 1991 to former city-clerk
treasurer, Mike Casper. A gorgeous array of colorful flowers are
planted in mid May by community volunteers, approximately 800
petunias.

Angelique's Arbor - Located on 5th Street. This is a mini park to sit and
enjoy the day. Named after Angelique Bourcier Martin, one of three French women who originally owned most of the land which is now Breckenridge. The park includes benches and flowers.
Rotary Park - Located on Main Street near Park Manor
on the Otter Tail river. Facilities include a picnic shelter, this portion of the Otter Tail River has been
adopted by the Breckenridge Rotary Club.

Lion's Park - Located on Highway 75 North on the Otter
Tail River. Facilities include playground equipment, picnic
shelter, restrooms, public access to the river, parking. there
is also a historical monument explaining the burning of
Breckenridge in 1862.
Jefferson Park - Located on 10th Street South and
Dacotah Avenue. Facilities include playground equipment,
shelter, restrooms, and softball fields.
Riverview Addition Playground - Located on Wilkin
Avenue and Vine Street. Facilities include playground equipment, basketball court, and family softball
area.
Family Aquatic Center Park - Located at Beede Avenue and 13th
Street North in Breckenridge. Facilities include swimming pool
(outdoor), shelter, playground equipment, sand volleyball
courts, basketball court and tennis courts.
Senior High School Athletic Complex - Located at the
East end of North 14th Street in Breckenridge. Facilities
include softball, baseball and football fields, track for
running, restrooms, storage buildings and pressbox.
Skating Rink Area - Located at North 6th Street and
Beede Avenue in Breckenridge. Facilities include lighted hockey
and open skating areas, warming house/teen center.
Kid's Corner - Located at South 7th Street and Chicago
Avenue in Breckenridge. Facilities include playground equipment, basketball courts and shelter.

Ox Cart Trail Park - The Oxcart Trail Park is located
just west of the Dairy Queen and was formerly called the Wilkin
Avenue Playground. The park consists of several activity panels,
numerous slides and tunnels, a horizontal ladder, two decorative
roofs, a clatter bridge and belt bridge, tire swings and belt
seat swings, basketball and small softball courts, restrooms,
picnic shelter and various other activities. It's handicapped
accessible, and will accommodate children up to age 12. The
Oxcart Trail Park was named for the authentic wagon wheel rut
trails that wind through Wilkin County.

Prairie Chicken Roadside Park - Located at the North
edge of Rothsay, MN. 20 miles North East of Breckenridge.
Rothsay has been designated as the Prairie Chicken Capital of
Minnesota. The park contains prairie chicken statue and picnic
tables.
Lloyd's Park - Located 9 miles North of Breckenridge
on Highway 75 then 1 mile West in County Road 18. There is a
picnic area with a flower garden overlooking the Red River of
the North. Bank fishing is available from both side of the river
and include a boat ramp at the Brushvale Bridge Recreation Area
located on the North Dakota side.

Chahinkapa Park & Zoo - Located in our sister city of Wahpeton, ND just across the Interstate Bridge entrance on R. J. Hughes Drive. Facilities include an excellent zoo, beautiful Prairie Rose Carousel, Prairie Rose Chapel, playground equipment, shelters,
campsites, swimming pool, water slide.
Kidder Recreation Area - Located along the 210 bypass on the Red River of the North. The 26 acres of the area includes garden plots, an arboretum, excellent fishing along shorelines, fish cleaning station, picnic shelter, restrooms & showers, modern campsites with water & electricity, a boat
ramp and fishing piers. It is also home to "Wahpper" - the world's largest catfish.
